running R under ESS inside emacs 21 prerelease

Dear People,
This is likely not news to anyone, but I'm running Debian with a prerelase
version of emacs 21 (21.0.104.2), ESS version (5.1.18-0), R (1.3.0-1) and
doing M-x-R locks it up solid. I've never seen any version of emacs do
this, ever. I guess that is why they call it a prerelease.
I was wondering if this is a known problem, or if ESS developers are not
going to worry about emacs 21 till it is actually released. I'm running
20.7 alongside, which works fine with ESS, so it is not a problem for me.
Just wondering.
Please excuse the fact that I am not subscribed to the mailing list. ESS
works fine for me; I just had this one question. So, if you would be so
kind, copy any reply to my email address.
Best regards, Faheem Mitha.
