Timeout

I also had the same problem with both R-1.1.1 and 1.1.0, but only on
WinNT4sp3, not on Linux.  The problem seems to be with Rterm.  If I try to
start Rterm from a command line, it takes a long time to get to the prompt.
Rgui on the other hand starts right up.
