problem with M-x S

Hello,

I installed ESS on Windows 95 and use emacs 20.6 and the bash shell with cygwin. I have S-PLUS 2000 and SAS installed.
When I try to start ESS from within Emacs via M-x S or M-x S+4, I get the following error message: Selecting deleted buffer
and Splus does not start.
Does anyone know a solution?
By the way, the same happens if I try M-x SAS.
